Attractive People Are More Intelligent: Study

In a recent study, it was found that attractive men and women generally have higher IQs. This isn’t good for the less-than-attractive people, who get nothing out of this survey.

The survey was conducted by researchers at the London School of Economics. LSE is located in the Westminster area in London. Its motto, translated into English, is “To Understand the Causes of Things.” This survey showed that the more attractive, the higher the IQ in most cases.

Attractive men have IQs that are 13.6 points above average. Attractive women are 11.4 points above average.

The study did not specify how the subjects were determined to be attractive or not. Notably, the lead researcher for the study, LSE’s Satoshi Kanazawa, stated that the study should not be seen as a justification for believing beautiful people are better than everyone else.

Kanazawa explained the cause. He stated that intelligent men, which are more inclined to achieve success, are more likely to marry beautiful women.

Intelligence and physical attractiveness are highly inheritable. Therefore, there should be a positive correlation between the two traits in the following generations.

The large study included 52,000 people from the United Kingdom and the United States.
