Gyrotonics Hits Mainstream

Gyrotonics is an exercise system that was created by Juliu Horvath. He lived in Hungary but was born in Romania.

He was also trained and very skilled in tap dancing, and came to the United States in the 1960s along with her exercise system, Gyrotonics. The system has continued to gain popularity in the United States.

Before coming to America, he injured his Achilles tendon, and was unable to continue her career as a dancer. He came here and was searching for some way to use his skills to help people, so he created his own exercise system.

He started by practicing yoga, and slowly integrated some of the moves that he used to do when he would dance. The system as a whole employs swimming, yoga, gymnastics and tai chi. He has uses a number of specialized pieces of equipment to do the workout properly.

The system is intended to improve flexibility and balance as well as muscle strength. Many athletes and gymnasts have adopted the system to help them improve their balance and flexibility while playing their sport.

The system is very similar to Pilates, except that the Gyrotonic system offers three dimensional, circular movements that use specific yoga-style breathing patterns that claim to cleanse and detoxify the entire body.

He has established his own studio in a number of different cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, London and Paris.
