Donna D’Errico who recently complained that she had been singled out by security at a Los Angeles airport for additional invasive screening has suffered a major blow to her health and the culprit has been reported to be staphylococcus aureus.
The staph infection became very serious, even life-threatening for the former Baywatch star. She is currently in the process of being treated for this infection and doctors say that she is responding well to the strong medication that they are giving her in the form of powerful antibiotics.
She is currently in the ICU wing of a California hospital although the location will not be disclosed at this time. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has long warned the public about the risks of visiting people in the hospital, including catching viruses and infections that can be quite serious.
Since germs are spread around a hospital very easily, those who have weakened immune systems are recommended to steer clear of visiting friends and family in the hospital as much as possible because of the potential health risks.
There has been an update on the star’s Facebook page, asking fans to pray for her in this very difficult time where she is struggling for her life.
