Facebook I Like It Statuses : I Like It On The Floor, Couch, My Desk – Have you been seeing some fairly overtly sexual Facebook status updates in recent days? If you have, you may have seen it from some otherwise private individuals and it may have taken you a bit off guard. Most of the messages start with “I like it on the,” and then a place is named at the end of the sentence. There is no denying that the messages have a sexual connotation behind them.
The most popular phrases include “I like it on the counter,” and “I like it on the bed.” Would you believe me if I told you that these people were actually talking about places that they like to set their purse? It’s true. The status updates are a campaign to help spread the word about Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They have used similar campaigns before. The idea is that since they are fun and a bit controversial they will go viral around the internet and increase participation for a good cause.
Instead of just using simple status updates to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness month, they hope that their new strategy will encourage more people to participate, and it certainly has garnered the vent a lot more press and attention from the media.
The trend started anonymously, but it has grown over the course of the last few days. A similar campaign was launched last year that also included a phrase that could have had sexual connotations behind it.
