The numerous complaints came immediately after the listing appeared in the electronic book section of the site. Clicking the link now reveals a page which apologizes because of a broken link which is a direct result of the controversy which began to stir among the many Amazon customers who said that the book is completely objectionable and should be removed from the website immediately.
The author of the book, Phillip R. Greaves, said that the book is meant to be an instructional on how to make children feel safe and comfortable when being in pedophilic situations. Amazon’s listing for the book said that it was available for the Kindle, an electronic reading device that the website has been promoting aggressively on their front page. A total of 3,000 comments showed up on the listing page for the book and the average rating for it was just one star. Most of the comments on the listing page were enraged customers who couldn’t believe such a book would be allowed on a mainstream online shopping site like Amazon.
