The 41 year old had not seen her father before as he had left her mother when she was still a baby. The nurse was working her usual evening shifts on Wednesday night when she overheard a phone conversation and the name that was spoken instantly struck a chord. The name that had been mentioned was her father’s name. The nurse then proceeded to visit the patient when he was admitted to the hospital and she instantly knew it was her father.
Whilst many people would be furious at the fact that their father had not been around for their entire life, the story was totally different for Wanda Rodriguez. Her father had asked her for forgiveness after talking to her, and his long lost daughter granted him his wish. Because of the fact that they are father and daughter, her father has been moved to another ward. However, Wanda still continues to visit him every day when she has a break from work. Her father, Victor Peraza, was completely unaware that he now has grandchildren.
Wanda has since decorated his room in the hospital with photographs of her, her sister, and her daughter. His estranged wife has also been to visit the patient since the revelations unfolded. Wanda said in an interview that she really hopes that her father will make it to his next birthday, which is September the 12th.
