Umpqua Dairy Products Are Safe Says Company – Umpqua Dairy Products Co. has stated that the products that are currently out on store shelves at this moment are safe to drink the statement comes after a massive recall of milk and juice products that were manufactured at their Roseburg, Ore. Facility.
It was another recall on the back of a hefty salmonella scare dealing with some of their processing equipment. The company quickly issued a statement regarding the matter to help ease the tension in the dairy industry.
“With the help of our friends in the dairy industry, all fluid milk products in stores have been manufactured in a different milk processing facility than the Roseburg facility that was the focus of the recall,” the statement reads. The statement also went on to say that the products that are currently on the shelves did not come into contact with the equipment in question.
The company has made it clear that the products are safe to drink and include milk, flavored milk and half-and-half products. The recall was made voluntarily, likely as a form of damage-control for the company, should any cases of salmonella break out.
Ensure that all products have a use by date of September 6th or later. The recall applies to products that have a use by date of September 5th or earlier, and although the company has said that their products are safe, it is always better to remain on the safe side.
